Gold Falls as Safe-Haven Demand Wanes  The Wall Street Journal

Gold prices declined Tuesday, weighed down by strength in the dollar. Gold for June delivery fell 0.5% to $1,277.10 a troy ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Silver futures for July delivery dropped 1.6% to $14.320 a troy ounce, closing at a six-month low. “A higher U.S. dollar index and firmer U.S. stocks are putting downside pressure on the gold and silver markets,” said Jim Wyckoff, senior analyst at Kitco Metals, in a report.
